What can YOU do to change your reality now, in order to make your life easier and better?

There is rarely a 'perfect' time to begin something new, or change an existing situation.  You have to start somewhere, and now is as good a time as any.  Waiting for the perfect time generally ensures that nothing actually changes.  The plans you have for transforming your health, wealth, happiness, abundance and/or love seem to get lost in the day-to-day mundane activities that you usually participate in.  This is because we are conditioned to remain in the most 'comfortable' space that we can (which means that nothing changes).

Conditioning from childhood, and life experiences in general, may contribute to creating unfavourable patterns of behaviour, which continue to repeat themselves until we deal with them.  Conditioning can be attributed to any number of things - family patterns (replicating similar appearances, features, traits, behaviours, medical conditions, etc, that have affected previous generations);  peers (seeking approval from peers, by replicating their particular qualities);  authoritive figures (wanting to be more in control, so imitating similar behaviours as those in authority);  friends, impressionable events, and the list goes on.

Most of us know someone who has gone from one bad relationship to another, or someone who is accident-prone, or someone who has inherited a bodily dis-ease (e.g. physical pain, heart condition, arthritis, asthma), or someone with an addictive behaviour.  These are all 'patterns', or consequences of our comfort zone.  We have to get out of our comfort zone, in order for something to change and, for the most part, this may not be a comfortable experience.  When a situation is uncomfortable, our innate capacity to revert back to past known behaviours sometimes intervenes, in order for us to feel comfortable again.  Even if our current circumstances leave us feeling unhappy or unfulfilled, our natural inclination is to remain within our comfort zone, where it is familiar and safe.Butterfly PurpleOnFinger 46Kb

The biggest challenge for most people is a fear of the unknown or unfamiliar.  Even if someone is in a toxic relationship, an unfulfilling job, suffering from an acute medical condition, or experiencing some form of lack or limitation, it is mostly easier to stay in the familiarity of the perceived safety of the current situation, rather than stepping outside their comfort zone and changing their circumstances.

Most of us can remember a time when we felt uncomfortable - completing a driving examination, undergoing medical tests, learning something new, meeting someone new, attending an interview, starting a new job - and, after successfully accomplishing each milestone, familiarity became a part of our new reality (or comfort zone).  Activities like driving a car or riding a bicycle suddenly became second nature, as we developed our range of skills and abilities.

By participating in new activities, we not only increase our skillset, we also increase our energy field vibration and level of consciousness (by expanding our comfort zone - our conscious awareness and energy field vibration).  Your comfort zone may be described as an artificial mental boundary, within which you feel a sense of safety and security.  Your self-image also influences the way you think about things and how you expect things to be.  Going beyond your comfort zone often yields feelings of discomfort, if only for a short while, until you become familiar with a new way of being.

Your comfort zone is only a perceived boundary, set by the limitations of your mind, and is based on your previous experiences and conditioning.  So, it's an 'inside job', which can be changed (by transforming limiting beliefs and increasing your level of consciousness).  Stepping outside your comfort zone will ensure you gain momentum toward your highest potentials and possibilities.  You never know what you're capable of achieving, until you step outside your comfort zone.  You really can achieve what you set your mind to achieve.

ES Butterfly Blue FacingRight 1Look at all the successes you have achieved so far in your life - things like learning to crawl, walking, talking, feeding yourself, becoming more educated, learning about life (even though your perspective may be a little different from others), securing a job, purchasing a car, saving some money, finding a partner, etc.  We sometimes undervalue the accomplishments we have already made, the knowledge we have gained, and the personal experiences and development for the benefit of our Soul's growth.  As you triumph over each new experience that moves you out of your comfort zone, you become 'more' than what you were before - more healthy, more wealthy, more wise, more loving, more forgiving, more compassionate, etc.

If you want to expand your comfort zone, you must be prepared to do something different.  Our habits, routines and behaviours are ingrained and, sometimes, not so easy to change.  You can start by taking a different route to work, brushing your hair with the opposite hand, reading a book instead of watching television, eating fruit instead of chocolate, going for a walk instead of having an afternoon nap, learning a new language, joining a group, participating in a new activity (sport, dance, pottery, craft, etc).

Most people can remember how difficult it was the first time they attempted to learn something new - ride a bicycle, drive a car, dance the waltz, operate a computer, etc - and all the negative emotions involved.  However, the more they practiced, the easier it became, until (finally) it was 'comfortable' (and became part of their comfort zone).  The more confident you are in stepping outside your comfort zone, the better you will feel about yourself, and the more willing you become to attempt something new.

Even if you believe you can't learn new things, or are unwilling to do so, you can easily volunteer your services at a local non-profit organization and, in so doing, help yourself whilst assisting others at the same time.  The benefits of community service include meeting new people, expanding your knowledge base, and embracing the community spirit.

Learning something new (also known as expanding your comfort zone) has numerous benefits, including improved self-confidence, increased resiliency, enhanced life experiences, brain stimulation, and an opportunity for personal development.  As you advance on your journey through life, each step outside your comfort zone leads you closer to your purpose and passion.

If you change nothing, then nothing will ever change.  If you wait for the 'perfect' time, you may be waiting forever.  Have you been 'putting something off' until a certain thing happens?  Are you waiting for tomorrow, rather than starting today?  It is time to stop sabotaging yourself, distracting yourself, or worrying about what others may think.  This is your life, and it is time for you to live your life the way that you want to.  Remember, every journey starts with one small step forward.

So, what can YOU do to change your reality now, in order to make your life easier and better?  There is no better time to start than NOW.
